so I looked over a couple C'dales (the Prophet and Rush), the Gary Fisher X-Caliber 29er, and one shop had an '05 Stumpy XC disc. I did myself a favor by not wearing test-riding gear. Gonna try and ride a couple on Sunday. Man I'm so torn I have no idea what I even want. Ugh. Hardtail? 29er? 29er Full suspension? Unicycle with knobbies?

The short answer: It was a good birthday. :D
The long answer:
I had the day off, and drooled over some mtn bikes, watched the what I had left of Wednesday's triple overtime thriller between Edmonton and San Jose, got a decent nap in, and then had a wonderful date with a young lady I met last weekend. She's probably the most 'my type' girl I've gone out with in, oh, memory. She's an ex-ski patrol, loves to ski, loves to hike, mtn bike and be outdoorsy --not just active. Last week when we met I thought I would have a hard time talking to her, but tonight was relatively easy, and I didn't feel stretched to force conversation. We had sushi and then saw a band, then (I've never suggested this before, which says a lot of things about a lot of things) we took her puppy for a walk around the park and enjoyed the crystal clear full-moon night. We made plans to hang out tomorrow night. And on my way home I checked my voicemail (I'd missed a call during dinner), and it was a group of dear friends in Dallas wishing me a happy birthday. Add in all your thoughts and man, what a good day. Thank you, thank you for a great birthday. :D :love: :beer:
