This looks interesting and unique to me. Anyone else find it so? Anyone else know about these?

Department Store bike, sold at Big box stores like Sears and Meijer, made by Huffy currently. Back a few years ago, their Alum frame was subject to stress failure and was recalled. If it's not the Aluminum 2000, it was about $180-200 new. If it's the original BMX bike from the 80's, it's japanese junk, by the way.

Your post comes up as 'deleted' on craigslist. However, my wife had a Royce Union prior to her finding out she has MS. It was a reliable bike, not bad looking, but nothing spectacular. I don't know if I agree with everything Tom Stormcrowe said, but I would agree with him on one thing; I would never spend $219 on a Royce Union.
My first bike was a Royce Union 24" single speed paperboy fat tire cruiser, circa 1963. Because my father wouldn't buy the Schwinn Stingray I wanted....

Hmmm... seems the poster dropped and re-posted. Here's the new link (hope this works.) He dropped the price from above $200:

Should that not appear, here's the description:
Royce union, Conquest model, L50 special edition, 14sp, size 21.5", standover height 31.5", 27" wheels, aluminum, 700x23c, new narrow, tyres, very light, very fast. must sell, asking $189, this kind of bike in ebay and other plces sell for over $300 to $500.
Here's what I note from the pics: forest green, steel frame. Downtube shifters (Shimano indexed?) Sidepull caliper brakes with QRs (shimano, dia-compe?) Crownless fork. Very nice-looking VELO seat with a Selle San Marco-style flat back with large rivets.
Seems like, though the company is known for junkers, this might be a higher-end model.
Just intrigued...

Royce Union made some decent bicycles way back when (about Fuji quality).

Hello randya. I saw a post that you sumitted a few years back indicating you had a 24 inch Royce Union single speed cruiser type bike when you were a kid. I got the same from Santa between 1963 and 1965. It was orange or goldish and was what I believe would be called a convertible, meaning the top tube could be removed to become a girls bike and added back in to be a boys bike again.
My parents didn't take many photos in those days and I have no photo of the bike. Did your bike match this description? If yes, do you have a photo of that Royce Union? I'd love to have a copy.
