someone wanna email paul and see when these are gonna be ready!? i think he's tired of me asking. last time i asked was about a month ago and he said "in a couple of weeks". originally i was told march. i'm sufferin waiting for these!

Arent those the ones with the un-detatchable chainrings?

I'm pretty sure I saw some in amongst the NAHBS photos that had simple circular cut-outs rather than the card suits.

i think the pics i saw from NAHBS had the card suits. i could deal with it if they all had em, but i'd rather if they didn't

The chainring does come off, its a proprietary chainring tho, so only Paul's will work with it.
The White Industries SS crankset uses a similar system, and ss MTB'ers (who put out more torque than your average hipster on 165's) love them. It's a good system.

Exactly. Longer arms = more torque ; thusly, the splined proprietary chainring system will definitely be able to handle the torque of a 165 crank.

i wonder how that splined system will work and hold up for fixed riding. truvativ had those stylo ss cranks awhile back with the a simlar spline interface between the spider and crank... my friend was running his country road bob fixed with those cranks and the constant forward/back torque riding it fixed kept working the spider/cranks lockring loose.

does anyone know more about the spline attachment deal on the pauls or white industries?

You guys have such filthy minds, totally drawn to the innuendo and missing all the technical inaccuracies:

1. You take off the bottom bracket/crank bolt before using the crank puller.
2. There are no chainring bolts, it's a splined interface. Kind of similar to the miche cog carrier.

I'd bet that it works better for the track than the street. The W-I cranks that have received the rave reviews were all on SS bikes, not fixes. I'm guessing it has the same drawbacks as the miche cog carrier.

true, and i want to ride it like crazy, but i can't afford a spare set of cranks to use for a month. i'd pull my cranks off the beater, but they are JIS.

nah. im imagining they'll be $150-200 though, but that's a guess outta the middle of no where.

alright gang, i'm holding a set of these in my hands right now thanks to the wonderful Dee Dub and they are ****ing hot! sturdy as hell. i don't see there being any problem in regards to the crank arm/chain ring interface. i think these will do just fine for street fixed riding and hope to give em a run soon. when i do i'll post a review... but yeah, start saving up so you can buy these when they're ready! i'm definitely gonna.
