I'm itching to pick up a pair from exelsports but wanted to ask if any one know of a better deal on some campy or similar PB wrenches before i drop 22$ x2 on a pair?

What are these "peanut butter wrenches" you speak of? Are they at all related to my struggle to find something I can carry to remove my rear wheel that weighs less than the 3/8 drive socket wrench I'm presently carrying?

They are precisely that. Basically a lightweight wrench designed explicitly for 15mm track nuts and nothing else, except for a few models that have stuff like a bottle opener on the other end. The Surly Jethro Tule looks like a nice one, but it's a tad more expensive than the crescent wrench I'm presently carrying around.

I have a Campy PB wrench and besides working elegantly and weighing not much, it gives some sort of emotional pleasure to use it.

I got mine for $22 or thereabouts from www.businesscycles.com

FWIW Excel is a good shop with helpful people. Prices aside, they're a good shop to support, IMO.

why would you need a pair?
or just get a stubby 15mm wrench from sears for $9

I just went for a Craftsman 14 x 15mm Wrench, Flat Ratchet Box End.

They also have them in offset..which might have been slightly better.

I was going to get a shorter, more compact one, but I like the finish on this one so much that I just carry it. I carry this, a multitool, a tube, and minipump on all but the shortest rides. I don't notice the weight.

i have to say - i have held and used the campy pb wrench and now i must own two. i went up to my lbs today and borrowed a pair to adjust my chain tension and i love how easy it is with the six point box end to just loosen, pull back and tighten, so quickly so smoothly, and the way they feel in the hands is very nice. i can totally see how ppl can develop an almost fetish with em
