Are YOU FAST enough to win one of these bowls???
These unique wood bowls, created by WV artist Robbie Clothier, will be awarded to the fastest male & female Pro/Expert racer at this year's Appalachian Classic MTB Race on June 18th at the Calhoun County Park near Grantsville, WV.... Each bowl has a retail value of $800, and is engraved "10th Annual Appalachian Classic Mountain Bike Race - Champion Bowl - June 18th, 2006".
I'll be fast enough to at least see them handed out to whoever gets them. Does that count? :D

Here's my point, though - unless you are in a serious point-collection mode to go from expert to semi-pro, it would be WAY less expensive to race the Appalachian Classic MTB Race, and probably WAY more fun. If you've been to NORBA at Snowshoe, this course is more challenging, and the entore venue is, well, friendly. Why spend all that $$ for, at most, a beer mug? You could win a cool an expensive bowl, plus cash, get a t-shirt, and be fed after the race - all for the entry fee of $35 (non-WVMBA member) - or only $30 if you bring your Dad (it's father's day!). Camp for free, and the most noise you'll hear is other people snoring, or perhaps the bull frogs & peepers making thier usual racket. No stop lights in this county..... we only ask that you keep the tires between the ditches.
