Hello I don't usually post here, sometimes on the fixed board but I am Swedish collector that came upon some british classics lately. I am renovating a carlton from '58, I am going with a inch pitch, skip tooth, drivtrain I have been on the lookout for a 1" pitch cog that would thread on some italian hubs, or british harden bacon slicer hubs. Anyone can lead me to where I could get ahold of one, or someone has one for sale. Oh I have checked ebay nothing has comed up for a while.

Several of the british sellers have bicycle shops that carry old or vintage parts.Not sure which ones to contact at the moment.Also sence you are a Swedish collector do you have any info on a Zwingli bicycle build about 1938,I know it was Swiss made---sam

Bought one of those, it's way to large for a road hub, I think this was for a coaster brake type of hub. Thanks anyway!!! About the Zwingli cykel saddly I have no info :( I will try to ask people at the club this weekend

---> I suspect this was for older single-speed American "Cruiser style" bicycle hubs (possibly like the "New Departure") which, I believe, had very uncommon threads - NOT like typical modern racing bike hubs.

FORTUNATELY... here is the website of an excellent vintage bikeshop in the USA. They still have 1" pitch Campagnolo cogs available. ~ Be sure to tell them what size chain you need them for.

Campagnolo's catalog #16 shows their cogs were available with 6, 7, or 9 teeth (#764) and these were available in both 1/8" (3mm) or 3/16" (4.6mm)... and Campagnolo actually used the same catalog numbers for them regardless of width/thickness. By 1974 (cat. #17) Campagnolo had finally discontinued the production of 1" pitch chainrings and cogs. ~ So, this is a very lucky find.
