I like it as is, rack and all. : )
Edit: Bar tape looks a little beat. Light colors get like that quickly though.

I agree with the other two guys, why do you want to powdercoat or get a new frame when your ride is pretty dope as it is?

ive taken off some rust that went down to the steel and since i didnt want to let it rust again i covered the spots with a quick rattle can job. also the rear wheel is a pain in the ass to put on once taken off cause the axle on the hub is too short (the whats-it-called triangles are too far apart for the wheel ive got) i have to use a c clamp to even put the wheel back on thus making it a $hitty job to change tubes when im not at home.

i did and all i understood was that he shortened some parts and added track ends and then had it painted.
1) i dont know any welders around here and 2) why go through all that?
***edited to say that i dont think id really want to arrange for all that stuff to happen. finding a welder with bike/track experience. getting the track ends....***
im just asking
powdercoat? or track frame?

well OBVIOUSLY its not going to. im just contimplating either just repainting it and not fixing that problem or getting new frame and not worrying about the old frame or the problem

I think you just need a new rear hub axle so that you are not always stressing the frame by squeezing it in. Any pics of the new paint job?

havent gotten a new paint job *just the rattle can job to cover up spots that were rusted*. thats what im thinking about

make that one into a single speed freewheel and get a trak bike. this way you have two bikes, not stressing one (see above post).
Good luck with whatever you decide to do.

is it a steel frame? Squish the dropouts together until the frame bends to the proper spacing. I'm sure someone will pipe in with the proper sheldon brown link. Squishing is my less fancy way of saying "cold settting"

Keep saving and in the meantime ride the **** outta what you have.

New bike ftw. I'm praising my Fuji Track that I got locally for a good price. :)

It will flip you out at how far you'll push in the frame. If you're using a 110mm track hub, you'll have to push the dropouts till they're within 70mm of each other. It definitely looks and feels like you're breaking something, but just stick with it, or have a shop do it.

I have an almost identical frame, but the non-touring version of that. What's with the paint chipping on the original? It chips so easily!. Does the new paint chip like that?

hells no. hard...like...rock.
to remove the paint from the crown race, it took 20 minutes of grunting and forcing and generally trying really hard to get it off. Powder coat = durable as all hell.

another reason im considering a powdercoat. durability.

Krylon...do a nice sand job, primer, paint and clear coat, if you do a little research you can do a boss paint job for ~$30....A good even couple coats of clear will last through wear and tear for a good long while.

No it won't. I tried. Save your 30 bucks and put it toward a real paint job.

complete bollocks. a rattlecan job, no matter how well done, will NOT look nor withstand wear and tear anything like a pro paint job or powdercoat. the paint won't apply thickly enough. you're not going to be able to bake the finish. rattlecan clearcoats are garbage.
don't do it. it's a waste of your time and money, and it's not as cheap as you might think

Cold setting = bending sh*t and then charging for it
