I'm gettin a new bike! I'm selling the Diamondback Outlook, and I'm either gonna get a GT Avalanche 3.0 or Giant Boulder SE. I like the GT more but I have heard some bad things bout GT: bankrupcy. I have also heard some good tings about GT and some good and bad things about Giant. Which one to get? And if theres a better hardtail around that price range (i'm only 13, and not rich) please tell me.

Thanx a heap man!

Ride them both and decide for yourself. I am partial to the way a GT handles but that is my opinion.

Look for something used.

the bike should fit what YOU like to do not what someone else thinks is cool. a cool looking bike that is uncomfortable will be just sitting more than used.

I am not aure about the new Avalanche but the 2001 frame was heavy cus it's reenforced for heavy duty use. I don't think the components on the 3.0 actually can match the quality of the frame itself.

My 2001 Avalanche 1.0 weighs 14kg, very heavy for a hard tail.

For lower price you can get better stuffs, look at Giant xtc se3. It comes with a disc brake and Judy TT fork and LX components.

Argh What does it matter what we think you'll just post another "what do you think of this bike?" thread. Go buy a freakin Huffy it's not like you'll listen to anyone.

Hey Raiyn....if it bothers you so much that he posts why do you even bother replying to it? Obviously you have much more important things to do besides sit on here and read other peoples topic...oh wait you don't cause you obviously read this one...so let the kid post what he wants. I'm sure he doesnt' have a ton of cash and would like to get as much info as he can so he feels he's getting the best bike he can afford. AAARRGGG I hate people that are always pissy! Just go and ride and get that built up anger out...geez

Later guys....sorry to get off topic there. :crash:

As for the bike....like a few other guys have said go test ride all the bikes your lookin at. You get alot better idea of a bike if you hop on it and get a feel for it......well as much as you can on a test ride that is. Good luck figuring out which bike you want!

Actually he is pissy because this is around the 8th thread for the EXACT SAME REASON. He has asked this more times than I can even think about it. We have told him the exact same thing every time over and over again...thats why.

What you guys were never 13? you never asked questions a bunch of times?.....well I guess it's winter time and all of us have nothing better to do except sit here and comlain about everything that everyone else does, I'm obviously no exception. I'm just tryin to not let the vibe get bad here.....

I was a kid once...but I never asked a question more than 2x. That was only for clarification. We have even mentioned to him that he asked to many times and that the answer is ... I agree the Raiyn can sometimes be a little quick to jump but Raiyn has also been holding back as there have been a lot of threads about this set of bikes from this user. He didn't listen the last time we told him to stop asking the same question so maybe a little explosion will help :D...

Here is the final answer

1 - Ride it. If it fits get it.
2 - Very little diff in the bikes. They are all disposable and cheap. They will work but if you are remotely tough on them they will break period. Since you had issues with the Diamondback you will probably have issues with either of these.
3 - Ignore the hype about bankrupcy blah blah. Gt is still around at least for a little while and Giant bikes are good.
4 - Buy one and ride it please....

That is a short summation of the 50 some odd posts towards these bike choices...
