Well, i posted a couple weeks ago that i ordered two Trek 4900's for $1,550 cdn tax&shipping included, but since then, i left the country to return home (Hong Kong) and cancelled the orders. The bikes missed their due-date set by Trek, and i couldn't take delivery of them. It's still a shame since i believe i got a pretty good deal on the bikes, but i wanted to be home for mothers day
Well now that i have time to think it over, i'm deciding between bikes again. The bikes i keep on looking at are the:
Trek 4900 (obviously),
SU200,
7.3-7.5 Fx
Pilot 1.0.
While i'm straying away from the 4900, mainly because it has a fatter frame, suspension fork which will both add weight. I'm looking for a commuter bike, but honestly, i don't know jack about bikes. What are the main diffrences between the SU200 and 7.3fx? is the SU frame still a hybrid? The Pilot is an interesting bike because i've never ridden anything with horns, and also, it's $300 more expensive than the other ones.
I know that most of the people on this board are not hybrid fans, but what would be your thoughts on a commuter? Is a hybrid really that inefficient in it's power delivery?
I'm partial to Trek because the dealer i dealt with is able to give me discounts. *fingers crossed*
