Hi: It's bike to work week so I actually rode in to work today. I really don't have a reason not to bike to work. It's about 8 miles and I have a safe, secure place for the bike. I even have a shower in the office. And here's the kicker - I have what could be the most beautiful commute around. I ride on A1A into downtown Ft. Lauderdale, Florida. The commute along the beach as the sun rises is unbelievable. Here's hoping I can bike to work more often!!!!

I'm in Largo FL. I have a 17 mile compute that takes me across the Tampa Bay bridge for a 3 mile crossing. Seen 30 stingray in a school yesterday from the bridge.

Way cool. Consider putting this on my Animals Spotted thread. Peace

Nice commutes, but I believe this guy has a better commute. Scroll down to the pics of Costa Rica.

I liked my commute through hilly, bucolic Westchester a couple of summers ago. Easily my favorite ever. For me, it beats riding along the beach.

Had a ride like that in the 80s. Down the Santa Ana River trail to the Newport Beach Bike path to the Lido Island Ferry (3 car max) to the Back Bay Path to work in Irvine. Best time was coming back late at night during a high off shore wind. Salt mist in the air caused green sparks to fall from the power lines.

I ride my commute into and through downtown San Francisco. Not for everybody, but it sure reminds you that you're alive!

whether it's the Boston skyline at dawn, as I ride along the river with a small flock of goslings and a rowing crew skimming the surface of the water, or a still winter night on the ride home, as I look over at Cambridge across the black sheen of ice on the Charles bordered by a new blanket of snow, I always think I have the best commute in the world.

On my commute I have a high crossing that lets me look in all directions at two major mountain ranges and several volcanoes.

I look out in all directions and see mountain passes I have bicycled thru, mountain hillsides I have ridden across, peaks I have climbed and volcanoes I have skied down. I look out and see spots I have stood 150 miles away, and places I want to go next.

I am a former resident of both Tampa and Clearwater and do not believe that there is a Tampa Bay bridge. There is the Courtney Campbell, the Howard Frankland and the Gandy bridges. And of course, the Sunshine Skyway. Is this Tampa Bay bridge brand new? I haven't been in Tampa since 2004.
