Does anybody have news when the A-bike will be available for purchase?

Daka the mfr. originally announced the launch for March 06?

Why? Don't you like riding on the road? Because if you buy one you'll need a large ballroom, snooker table or similar 'cos those small wheels and high centre of gravity are gonna be a killer!

This page at bikebiz (http://www.bikebiz.co.uk/daily-news/article.php?id=6549) seems to have the most up to date info.

I don't get the connection in the timesonline article between the Clive's new bike and a Corvette C5. That's what a C5 is in the States.:)

(My real comment is that Clive culture so permeates the UK that the term "C5" is never explained until the end of the article.)

Sinclair seems determined to ruin his reputation with these horrible transport aternatives. Considering that the guy produced real, market ready innovations in the sixties and seventies with the first pocket calculator, a tiny radio (in the days when any radio was at least the size of a brick) and a series of rather neat, affordable home computers, I just don't know what he can be thinking of. The terrible C5 was more like a kiddies play car than a serious transport alternative, and yet he really did expect people to take these things on the road among the taffic with their washing machine motor and their horrible plastic wheels. It was a dog of an idea, and I suspect the wierd, tiny wheeled bicycle will go the same way.
