I tried this stuff for the first time today. It is NASTY. It tastes like, guess what? GRASS. What a surprise! My brother drinks it every day so I figured I'd give it a shot after reading about the supposed benefits. I had a stomachache for hours after drinking a "shot" of it. Anybody here into wheatgrass?

Oh yea, it's rough going down. From a nutritional standpoint it one of the best things you can consume. I'll mix some with water down it then use orange juice as a chaser.

Jamba Juice sells it with the orange slice chaser. If you don't get much green leafy vegetables in your regular diet, the wheat grass is suppose to give you more than several bunches of spinach. So its easier to do 2 ounces of wheat grass than a few bunches of spinach.

I was first told about the stuff from a semi pro cyclocross racer. I take it before races. It is suspose to clean the blood.

I wonder, though, what's so dirty? I buy the line that there's no incentive for Big Business to do anything with wheatgrass (easy to grow in your backyard, for goodness sake!), explaining the relative dearth of scientific research on its properties, but the bit about "cleaning the blood" and so forth sounds too hokey.
