Trying to find a good way to scope out road conditions before I leave. I have this fear of heading out down a road, only to find it having no shoulder and lots of trafic. Any advice on how to do this in oregon?

For specific roads, try calling the county highway department or state, or local police departments where the road is located. Any of them should be able to give you general information about a road or two in their area.
