Hi.
So my friend talked me in to running in Bay for Breakers. Now last time I run was at least 5 years ago. I ride my bike almost everyday and put at least 100 miles a week on it. Race starts at 8 am. Problem is I need to be in Berkeley by 12:30-1pm. So is it possible to finish it in three hours for a fit person who doesn't run, or should I find a bail out point? If anyone did that run, how bad is traffic going to be?
Personally I don't really care if I finish or not, running is not really my thing.

Thanks.

How many kilometers (miles) and what's the terrain?

I'm a competitive cyclist and a mid pack runner. It will take me about 1:05 to finish. If you walk briskly it would take about 2:00 hrs or so.

Well I done it today. Official time is 1:17:53. Not sure if it's good or bad. I guess I could have shaved off 5 minutes off that, but as I said I'm not a runner (last time I ran was at least 6 years ago) so it doesn't really matter. Getting back to the start was pretty easy. Overall a nicely organized event. Except naked people (all male) *shuders.

That's 10:50/mile. Not bad for a guy who doesn't run. Almost MOP. :)
