Yes - but truly custom ones can be expensive.

I'd look into New Balance if you have hard to fit feet. Their web site is very helpful in getting the sizing right, and you can order directly from them if you want. I don't know exactly how much, but I think you can get many of their models for under $100.00. Maybe even under $75.00 for some. They are good running shoes. If you have more "normal" sized feet, Nike, Adidas, Asics and some others make quite good shoes too (I'm not a fan of Reebok or Fila for running shoes).

Just about any good brand name shoe is good if you stick to three miles a day and aren't overweight or have some imbalance/structural problem. Years ago, wide variations existed in running shoes. Now they all are good.

Realistically shop for sales. If you aren't particular about a specific brand, you can find $90 shoes on sale for $50.

A good pair of running shoes will cost you around 100 buck (MRSP).

I use classic style Saucony's. They work great and don't hurt the wallet too much at 30-50 bucks.

It's just like a bike fit, except bad shoes are more likely to cause injury, and the fit is cheaper.
