Commuting - Preparing for a commute.

Bikeforums.net is a forum about nothing but bikes. Our community can help you find information about hard-to-find and localized information like bicycle tours, specialties like where in your area to have your recumbent bike serviced, or what are the best bicycle tires and seats for the activities you use your bike for.
Right now I only commute home from work. My wife takes me, my bike & all the gear I need in the morning & I ride home after work.
The night before:
I lay out the cloths I'm going to wear. I wear my cycling socks, the Under Armor undershorts under my jeans & moisture wicking shirt at work, (I do not need to wear dress cloths so this is no problem). In my saddle bags I have my bike shoes & over shorts. The jeans I wear has everything I need in the pockets, the belt through the loops, etc. I put the saddle bags, my Vision day bag & helmet in the Jeep.
The morning of:
I air up the tires before I load the bike. I get everything I need like my lunch water bladder etc & load it in the Jeep as well. When I get to work I put the water bladder & my lunch in the fridge or freezer. I have a safe out of the way place to store my bike.
After work all I do is change into my over shorts, change my shoes, put the water bladder in its back pack, put the saddle bags on the rear rack, put the day bag on & head home.
Is this ritual at all uncommon?
How do you get ready for a commute?

How do you get ready for a commute?
Wake up at 6:15, pour coffee, stuff clothes in bag, sip coffee, fill up water bottle, finish coffee, get on bike and am out by 6:30

Night before - Iron clothes, roll up and pack.
Morning - get up no later than 6:30, put on shorts and shirt, attach panniers, adjust clothing for weather.
Arrive at work - lock up bike, hang shirt in shower area of locker room, shower, shave, and dress, walk to desk in bike shoes, switch shoes with pair in desk ala Mr. Rogers.
Leave work - another Mr. Rogers on the shoes, change in locker room, register flight plans with the tower (wife), and go.

oh yeah, i usually also put on my cycling shorts and hi-vis shirt somewhere between waking up and getting on bike, and shoes and helmet too.

It all depends on how organized and virtuous I am feeling the day before. :)

Wake up, shower, dress (HHCMF shirt or equiv.), pack workshirt in backpack, put on backpack, helmet and geek strap, hop on bike and go to work.

Very easy nowdays.
I keep my pannier ready with everything I need in it. Charge the battery for my headlight the night before.
Then in the morning I walk into our closet and put on my clothes, grab my pannier, put the lights on the bike, and ride to work.

Yup, I've got a night before ritual, as well as a reminder post-it note with the list. Takes me 15 minutes
on a good day, usually during commercials while watching an hour of TV.
"prep the bike" -- fill tires, put on the quick-release rear trunk rack, clean dirt off bike
(since I wear work clothes in the AM and have to manipulate the bike on/off trains etc.),
sometimes lube the chain
"pack the trunk bag" -- bike shirt, shorts, socks, work socks, work shoes (boat shoes),
clif bar, mini garage door opener, bike lock key, work ID, contacts lens case, magazine for the
train ride, water bottle, cellphone
"lay out clothes" work clothes, cotton socks
"put it by the front door" helmet, bike shoes, trunk bag
In the morning, it's all ready for me, nothing to remember to do except put the trunk bag on the
bike and go.
(in the trunk bag already are my mini pump, blinky, spare tube & levers, ankle straps, sunglasses)
