so i emailed my LBS and the owner asking if they had any Specialized Bikes there. He replied saying that they only have "Marin, Diamondback, Raleigh, and Redline" Bikes. so i was wondering if these are good brands to buy? and are there any bad models i should watch out for?

depends on what you want and how much you are willing to pay, but generally yes they are decent bikes
Marin's are very nice bikes. Redline makes nice cyclocross bikes and singlespeeds. Diamonback and Raleigh make pretty decent bikes as well.

street and trail riding.
It looks like a pretty nice bike. I would try to take it for a test ride first though. When you do pay attention to the fork. I don't know much about that one so you will want to make sure that it doesn't ride like a pogo stick.
