Mountain Biking - Hardtail freeride

Hey guys,
I might get a 06 Manitou Travis single for my bike. Right now i'm running a quick release axle, and i want to no with the Manitou's 20mm hex quick release axle if i needed to change my hubs. Does anybody know?

and yes, you do need to change your hubs unless they are those super-cool ones that can switch from a 20mm thru axle to quick release by just changing the (caps?)

Kinda of unclear, do you mean ur front hub is a 20mm quick release or just a plain old quick release. If you have a 20mm front hub right now then it will work.

Right now he has a QR hub.

I have a Specialized Hardrock, that was my entry level mt. bike, and its made out of really thick aluminum so its good for freeride. I'm on a 550 max budget so do you guys think I should go with another fork?

I want something with more travel, because my friend bottomed out his dj2, the top of the line one, I also want something with bigger stanchions, because I'm a pretty burly guy. (6'2", 220lbs) Minimum 130mm of travel and at least 34mm stanchions, my friends said to go with last years Marz. 66VF, the new Manitou Travis Single, or a Marz. Z1. I've heard rave reviews about the 66, but I can't find any websites or shops that still sell the 05. The DJ doesnt really fit my riding style anymore, because I've stopped doing dirt jumping for the last few months, because I got tired of it.

In the last message, I meant prefferably 34mm stanchions, 32mm is acceptable though. I just found an 06 Marz. Z1 sport with 150mm of travel and 32mm legs for $505 on Airbomb.com, would this be a good fork, or should I keep looking?

well you really should follow the +/- 20mm rule, some people have put 130mm forks on their hardrock and say it feels good but i think 150mm on a hardrock is a bit excessive.

What would you recommend for 130mm thats like $500? I only know of the Marz. Drop Offs and the RockShox Pike. I've heard that the Pike is kind of fragile, so I don't want to go with that. My friend has a Drop Off, and he's always complaining about it. And thats really all I know of, besides the Man. Nixon, which doesn't fit my riding style.

Oh, I forgot the Marz. Dj's. However, I don't think those will be good for me, becuase I'm a pretty burly guy (6'2", 220lbs), and I don't think that it will be able to cushion a good impact as well, because its made to land perfectly in a tranny for dj'n.
