What are my options in hubs?
I am debating widening the frame to 120mm so that I can have tons more options however I don't have the tools. I have to add that into the cost which means it might be worthwhile to stick with 110 and buy an old track hub.

A few options:

1. Go to ebay, search for "track 110" and select the "in titles and description" option. Hope you get lucky, and count your pennies.

2. Use said pennies and buy a Phil Wood hub as well as a 110 axle conversion kit

3. Respace the frame and face the wrath of the BFSSFG purists.

A good frame builder could easily stretch out your current frame. If its a great frame that may be the way to go.

go with the phils. i think the 110 axle cost me $60. you can also put the 120 axle back in and use them on another bike later.

I'm looking at dealer's websites and don't see a 110 axle. I don't have Adobe on this computer so I can't view the pdf on Phil Wood's website about their hubs.

Someone fixed a Dahon Boardwalk folding bike and had their LBS (I think it was Harris Cyclery) respace a suzue basic fixed/free flip to 110. He goes by CRM in the folding bike forums.

If it is a 110mm spaced keirin frame then you should be aware that it will take an 8mm axle rather than the standard 10mm axle (I think). That means that you would have to respace the frame and file the dropouts in order to use a standard track hub. 110mm rear axles for keirin frames are rare and expensive.

110 keirin frames also have a 90mm spaced front end, just in case you hadn't come to this yet and try to stick a regular 100 on there. i just bought a 110-90 wheel set from e-framebank for a really good price. i'm not sure if there policy is the same on parts and it is on frames though.

get a front disk hub, space it out to 110, and bolt a modified cog onto the disk brake mount..there'll be no chance of stripping that baby. Theres an article about this somewhere...try FGG.

Get Whitney Moyer to do it. He'll do it better than any of the bike shops.

I'll have to keep him in mind. I've already talked to bikeshop employees who have told me that they can get 110mm rear hubs though they say it is expensive.
A fellow forum user offered me a good deal too.

Oh just so you guys know, it's just an old path racer, not a keirin.
How are the hubs being respaced? I had thought that the spacing for typical hubs (120) was because the actual width from locknut to locknut and that it was minimal.

rethought it. Maybe I'll get Phil's.

go to the trade thread. i think chimblysweep still has a wheelset where the rear is 110 she is wanting to get rid of.
