I have an 06 hardrock sport, prior to this I had rapid fire. Anyone have dislikes about unaccurate shifting? I am thinking about converting my 06 components to rapid fire and all altus stuff.

Is it new? Have you readjusted it?
All new cables (regardless of brand) will go through a "break-in" period.
The cables elongate slightly as they are stressed. The individual would wires tighten and the cable "Stretches".
Your brakes and shifters all need to be readjusted after this break-in period.
This is why most reputable shops offer a free 30-day tune-up.
