Mountain Biking - Mom's final price

Bikeforums.net is a forum about nothing but bikes. Our community can help you find information about hard-to-find and localized information like bicycle tours, specialties like where in your area to have your recumbent bike serviced, or what are the best bicycle tires and seats for the activities you use your bike for.

Thanks for all your input, ribbing, fine wishes, and the occassional insult... but the final price for the total bike is......... $712.33 - with a new helmet & shipping for the parts.... about $20 less than I thought it would toal to!:D
Aside from the frame & fork, that includes a new front wheel, rotor, hydraulic hose, an adapter for the fork, head set. stem, and a bleed kit for the disc brakes. Don't ask me for details... Everything else was transferred from his scalpel.

Of course, all the stuff that was transferred probably cost more than what I just spent, but, whatever. That was spread out over 2 years.......
Fine work Mom, you have made all us 30 yr. old kids proud.

pfft my mom just tells me that i cant buy a new good bike cuz ill go off not 10 foot jumps but 20 foot jumps. and she says that when i ride my bike, like 5 miles to my friends house on a perfectly paved road with almost no cars that i have to wear my helmet

My mom doesn't have to tell me to do that, it's just second nature. I don't get on a bike without a helmet on. I don't ride with anyone not wearing a helmet either. You can actually die from just falling over and hitting your head, it doesn't matter if there are any cars or not. [ stepping off soapbox ]

So when are you going to buy me a Salsa, mom? :D ;)
Very nice...looks smoking fast. Sounds like you found some pretty good deals on everything, too.

Yeah, great deals through the guy selling the frame & fork - the wheel's a Mavic C'land for $76, Giro Havoc helmet for $41 - aside from that, shipping was the most expensive.
And, uh, "iamlucky13", when you show up to mow the couple of acre lawn each week, do the dishes every day, weed-wack & generally help maintain 135 arces, I'll think about a Salsa for you, too! I just happen to have a great 14 year old, even though he cut his curls off & is generally - well - moody (but, you'll have that at that age). And, no pancakes for you unless you cook them yourself!
