Mountain Biking - Already time to upgrade my rims or the whole wheel set!!!

Ok so about 2 months ago I got a new wheel set consisting of Mavic EX325 rims, Specialized Stout hubs and laced up with some DT Swiss 2.0mm spokes. I have these wheels on a Banshee Morphine (used for hardtail freeride) and they r already f***ed up after 2 months, with flat spots every where. So what should I do, I'm thinking of just replacing the rear rim with a Intese Mag 30 rim or something like that, but is my specalized stout hub even worth saving, or should I just start from scratch???

Well gezzz its only a hardtail and I live in the midwest, the only tranys we have here are stairsets

thats weird, I have no problem tranny'ing to stairs, pump your tires up.

I ride Sun Doubbletrack with Maxxis HolyRoller 2.4" tires, 55-62 psi, depending on mood. Depending on how hard you ride... parts are going to break... end of story.
And for us trials guys, most trial riders use rims that are quite wide (48mm with 32 spoke 2.5"-3.0" tires.. I ride my trials bike with 32 psi) but we are also smooth... very smooth. I've watched rims actually mold to the shape of the obstical the rim is landing on. Like doing a lurch to rail. The rim will take the form of the rail on initial impact.. Its always sweet to see in person.
Now, no rim is bomb proof, no matter how much you spend on a wheelset. I just destroyed another set this week. But I have re-laced them many times, replaced the axles a couple times after snapping them. I knew that these rims would go down, and go down hard. But to my surprise they lasted quite some time. 3 months. Riding everyday, and doing stair-gaps, big wall drop offs, riding upstairs, down them, and mixing trials into my urban assult riding
I dont really like Mavic for bombing/big hits, I've never had them stay together. Just from my personal experience, I wont buy Mavic any more. You spend a lot for a name, kind of like Tommy Hillfinger.
I have an advantage over a lot of riders; I know how to lace and true, fix flat spots, and dish my own rims.

May I ask why you have 3 trials bikes?

I have a buddy that's an insane biker, he has a .243 racing frame, and in the rear he swears by his DeeMax wheel. He won't touch anything else.

There isn't anything better...if I could find the 2002 version I would never look back

I was just kidding, dood. I feel ya on the midwest thing though. There's a good freeride trail about 45 minutes from me. It's in Manhattan Kansas, I haven't made it there yet...I live in the ol' capitol city. From the pic's I've seen though it's a nice place to shred. No drops bigger than 12' with tranny's.

Really though, ask someone about those Deetrax by Mavic. With the 3 year warranty, you pay an extra 8%...but for you it may be worth the extra dough.
