Mountain Biking - Scouting another XC location.

Today I did some scouting in another XC location. All I can say is that the geometry of my bike is great for leaning over and gasping for air. Things were going fine, until I hit a section that just went straight up, and up, and up. Still, I found some beautiful areas in the lower section, but I couldn't climb high enough out of the trees to get a shot of the Valley. None of my shots ever seem to show grades, they all look flat. A bit dark too. But talk about erosion, this trail must turn into a river during a heavy rain. Its like a creek bottom.

That sure looks like a river (maybe a creek) to me . Are you sure it's a trail ?:D

Well the one with water coming down it, is a creek. The one going up the mountain, is a creek only in a downpour. Which ties in pretty well with the other thread about erosion and building proper trails. My passtime is riding trails that I can't even see evidence of a bike track, I guess I shouldn't be ticked about smoothness, but I wonder what a smooth trail feels like? Still, I've only seen one other biker all Spring. Could be that they're out on the really good trails. I'm still trying to hunt down the map maker that classified this trail as "moderate". :)
