I must admit I know very little about bike pedals especially once things move into cleats. I just wanted to know if these pedals are of a good quality or not.

Look pretty basic, which isn't bad in itself, but if I were just starting with clipless and looking at SPD-type pedals (the kind that those are), I'd find something with double-sided entry. That way, you can clip in without fiddling with the pedal to get it into the upright position.

Could I make the back end weighted so they sit upright and are easy to clip into?

I think I saw Wellgo on the side. Ummmm...yeah. Well what can one say about these...They work. Can be great for the right kind of application. I have a pair that I sometimes actually prefer to my Shimano, but these things aren't going to win any awards for quality and durability.

What he said. But I wouldn't rely on an inexpensive pair like this to always hang just right.

Well the thing is I only ride around two times a week and I don't want to be spending to much money just yet maybe once I get into it a bit more.

Thanks it was just with such a low price tag I was worried I was buying a really bad product.

No, I wouldn't worry about that. I've ridden Wellgo pedals, and they're solid enough. I believe Wellgo is the biggest pedal manufacturer in the world, actually (correct me if I'm wrong).

I have used a similar set of pedals and agree with Peek the Geek on the double sided issue. It can be a PIA to get clipped in at traffic lights (dangerous). Do not count on the weighting to position the pedal. You can get double sided Shimano SPD PD-M520 new for around $40. I have used these for about 1-1/2 years and am very satified.

Well they sound much better I will look into them because if I can get a set of pedals here rather than off ebay it would be much easier.
