Hello to all!

I participated in the Ride of Silence in Birmingham (Homewood), AL last evening. It was a nice event, probably 150 riders showed, but I was disappointed to see very few vintage bikes. I met my old college buddy there and he left his Bianchi at home, bringing a new carbon fiber Specialized instead (can't say I blame him, it is really cool). I briefly saw one guy behind me on a nice old lugged-frame Schwinn, painted bright yellow w/ no decals. I really think we were the only 2 riders on bikes old enough to still have toeclips! All I could hear at the start was the click-click-click of clippless pedals/shoes. Where was everybody?

I rode my de Reus,
a rather loud bike for the somber event.
I got alot of comment on the Croce gruppo and
my ancient shoes (clips and straps).
I didn't see much vintage steel, mostly Trek Cf
and Serottas (KOF steel).

I rode my 20 year old C'dale with toe clips and Dettos. One of the young racer types was asking bout the tubulars.

There was a rider on a gorgeous black Tommasini.
