Do someone have detailed picture of a Xootr front-end?
I'd like to see how different is the steering from a 4 years old Swift.
I had the first generation Swift and modified my Twenty with the same steering (quick release on quill extension) system. It is now know for not being perfectly sturdy so Peter modified the steering.
I'd like to see how it is built to modify my Twenty again to be safer.
You can take a look at my bike: http://www.guybouchard.ca/twenty.htm
Thanks!

Hi Guy,
Guy Dickinson has a few close-ups of the front here http://www.flickr.com/photos/guy/sets/887609/
Not a lot of detail really, I know. Maybe one of the others here can snap a picture of his (mine's on order..)
I can't think of any other webpages at the moment.
Funnily enough, I saw your bike several months back and linked to your page - we were discussing putting a front derailleur on the Swift. Conclusion - possible with the old steel frame, not with the new aluminium frame (at least, not without making a special bracket)

Hi Guy,
Here is the Xootr website. it has a number of photos of the bike. Hope this helps.
Regarding your old Swift. I just bought a used steel frame Swift and I got a double chain ring on it. I would love to put a front derailleur but Peter didn't think it would be doable because of frame angle. He also said the long cable might interfere with the folding as well.
Can you share how you were able to get the derailleur to work and whether it interfered with the fold? I might be folding my Swift at least once a day.
Thanks

Just wanted to say "Hi" Guy! Your site and cool Twenty was no small part responsible for me getting into Raleigh Twentys and restoring my own... Link to my bike in my signature. Happy Cycling!

I don't remember if i installed a front derailler on my Swift several years ago. I think so but i don't remember.
On my Twenty, a Top Swing Shimano MTB front derailler work perfectly on a Shimano RX100 42-52 setup.
I'd like to get at least another Twenty frame to play a bit. Let me know if someone is selling some somewhere in Canada.
Thanks!
