General Cycling Discussion - Giro D'Italia- preparing just in case....

Bikeforums.net is a forum about nothing but bikes. Our community can help you find information about hard-to-find and localized information like bicycle tours, specialties like where in your area to have your recumbent bike serviced, or what are the best bicycle tires and seats for the activities you use your bike for.

Ok, I'm trying to see if I can plan for my next tour this summer- back to Italy again. I want to definitely go back to the Giro, but I'd like to attend a few more stages. Sooooooo....

I was wondering if any of you out there would know I could apply for a press pass with a magazine or news organization so I could cover the Giro. Or any contacts I could make with any news organizations to write about the Giro and publish via the net. I also plan to take pictures.

This is just in case- I may have a job this summer that prevents me from going at all, but I won't know about that for another month. They do seem supportive of my tours, though. We'll see.

Any ideas would be great.

Thanks,

Koffee

P.S. Nothing illegal either- well, at least nothing that can be traced back to me before I get outta there!

Thanks for the info. Unfortunately, when I read through it, the information does not give details for getting a press pass. It just talks about the history of the tour, gives a lot of information about the Giro, and also some help for booking hotels.

If anyone knows of any other means, I would love to get some info if there are any news outlets out there interested in having someone cover the Giro for them.

Koffee

Maybe this new road bike magazine would send you. http://www.asphaltmag.com/ You could try Adventure Cycling's magazine http://www.adventurecycling.org or the one put out by the League of American Bicyclists. http://www.bikeleague.org
