can anyone tell me why my left crack arm has started to snap & creek so much. it makes noise whenever a force down on it hard, it's driving me crazy. i recently tightend it up which doesn't seem to make much of a difference.
vintage campy 170mm cracks,
campy bb.
???
sounds like you rounded off the edges of either your crank, spindle - or both. that means it's time for a new crank and bb.

there is no slippage though.

Check for hairline cracks around the pedal hole...I have seen quite a few cracked/broken older campy cranks at the pedal hole...
Could be that you either stretched the cranks or flat spotted the bb spindle. If that happens, the crank bolt will bottom out before the crank is fully seated on the bb. Once it happens, you're out of luck. On the up side, it could be your chainring bolts...

Are you sure it's your crank? Sounds a lot like a problem I had. The grease on the threads between the pedal and crank arm breaks down eventually and leaves the tinyest bit of play between the threads on the pedal and crank arm, which causes a creaking sound. In my case anyway. The 2 suggestions I got were 1. Teflon tape around the threads. 2. Anti Sieze on the threads. I opted for the anti sieze and it worked great, I've used it ever since without a repeat of the noise. Might want to try that before you replace anything, anti sieze is only like 4 bucks. Good luck.
remove and clean the static side bottom bracket shell.
Then clean the bb spindle and the tapers of the crank.

the bb is a year or so old. i did however just change out my pedals.
edit:
just regreased my pedal threads, & from what i can tell the situation seems to be solved (hope), thanks.
