Paulie, is there some sort of Satanic thing buried in there...say it backwards or something? I tried it here in the pc chair and it came out sounding sort of Rastafarian, mon.

Drill Sgt. Rootley used to take us around the parade ground in very similar way. How did you get to know him? I still bring my students in from PE to "I know a girl up on the hill, if she won't do it well her sister will". Notice the 60 beats.

Etc.

A few weeks ago I tried to explain an easy way to measure your cadence, or at least identify some basic cadence numbers. I didn't verbalize it well, but I have another idea of how to do it. (And, for the record, I think measuring cadence is absolute B.S. for anyone who isn't trying to squeeze the last 2% or 3% of performance out of their body.)

The bold letters represent the right or left pedal in the down position when each second ticks off on your computer's clock. The non-bold letters represent the half strokes between seconds.

30 RPM: R L R L R L R L

60 RPM: R L R L R L R L R L R L R L R

90 RPM: R L R L R L R L R L R L R L R L R L R L R L

120 RPM: R L R L R L R L R L R L R L R L R L R L R L R L R L R L R

That is the gol-darndest silliest thing I've ever seen. Eubonics would be easier. :D

I go out of town for one freakin' night and the whole forum goes straight to heck.

It's not:
30 RPM: R L R L R L R L
60 RPM: R L R L R L R L R L R L R L R
90 RPM: R L R L R L R L R L R L R L R L R L R L R L
120 RPM: R L R L R L R L R L R L R L R L R L R L R L R L R L R L R

It's:
30 RPM: L R L R L R L R
60 RPM: L R L R L R L R L R L R L R L
90 RPM: L R L R L R L R L R L R L R L R L R L R L R
120 RPM: L R L R L R L R L R L R L R L R L R L R L R L R L R L R L

Now, doesn't this make more sense?

In the service, they used to tell us "Your OTHER left foot," which would make your cadence thing something like this:

30 RPM: L L L L L L L L
60 RPM: L L L L L L L L L L L L L L L
90 RPM: L L L L L L L L L L L L L L L L L L L L L L
120 RPM: L L L L L L L L L L L L L L L L L L L L L L L L L L L L L

And I think that is just about as useful.

Have a bad night, BP?
