The term, "full kit" is one used when we ride in complete cycling outfit for times when we take to the streets or trails. This "kit" would start with the basic outfit items and end with however many accessories we choose to take with us. Whether it is of just the essential items (e.g. helmet, jersey, shorts, etc) or accessories going into infinity, how full is "Full Kit" when you ride ? What are the items?

I wear a jersey, shorts, Iron Clad work gloves, shimano shoes, a helmet and sunglasses. I carry 170 ounces of liquid, a flashlight, 2 knives, a zippo with spare fluid, (also good for cleaning), sometimes an expanding baton, an Alien tool, a first aid kit, 2 tubes, a spare chain, vice grips, bug repellant, a crank puller, at least a thousand calories or so of energy providing snacks, and some sun screen. Depending on where I'm going, I may also be carrying a cable lock. Yes I do have a cell phone, but it will be a cold day in hell when I take it anywhere other than work. I hate the damn things.

2001 Bianchi XL Boron with full Campagnolo Daytona, Liquigas-Bianchi bibshorts, jersey, gloves, LAS Squallo helmet, Sidi Zeta Carbon shoes.

2003 Colnago Dream with full Shimano Dura-Ace 7700, Rabobank bibshorts, jersey, gloves, Giro Pneumo helmet, Shimano R151 Carbon shoes.

I used to have a full Navigators kit to go with the C50, but I don't have the C50 anymore, so I sold the Nav kit to a friend.

Tennis shoes, T-shirt, gloves, helmet, patch kit. I like to just jump on and go without fussing over the details, and I've never felt any need for padded shorts so I just keep my "kit" simple. Plus cycling clothes are really expensive. $60 for a relatively cheap pair of mountain biking shorts is too much for my blood.

On me: Bell citi helmet (coolmax type thing worn under that), glasses w/mirror if I will be riding through the streets, wicking undershirt, wicking shirt on top of that, illuminite vest if it is cool out, Specialized long fingered or short fingered gloves, lycra shorts w/loose shorts on top, knee warmers if it is cool out, cheapo hiking boots (short cut...like running shoes). ID, medical insurance card, some cash, dogtags w/emergency info and pepper spray.

In my rack bag I have 1-2 spare tubes, zip ties, multi-tool thingy, a mini first aid kit, 3 tire levers, patch kit, and a cargo net. Those items stay in the bag permanently. Optional items depending on the circumstances are the extra lenses that came w/my glasses, helmet visor, sunscreen, cable lock, a plastic bag to cover my brooks saddle in case of rain. There is also a blinkie light zip-tied to the bag and another light permanently attached to the rack.

On my "fuel box" a.k.a. bento box, I carry a small camera and my cellphone, sometimes pen and paper.

I also carry two 27 ounce water bottles, one a propel/water mix, the other with plain water and I always have at least one homemade energy bar with me. There's a frame pump attached to the bike and for early morning rides/cloudy days there are two led lights on the handlebars.

My cycling club has their own uniforms: Mine is Jersey, Shorts, Socks, and gloves.

My USA kit is the same items.

LMAO, wanna know what I use for bike shorts? Cargo type swim trunks from Target. I've never been sorry.

lets see, I dont own any lycra or spandex, so I guess I dont have a "kit"

today it was 70F and raining off and on all day and I wore a pair of jeans, a t-shirt, bike shoes, a bandana on my head and a raincoat for a little while plus my messenger bag, did about 34 miles, slow day at the office
