Anybody have opinions on these top-of-the-line hubs, and which would be the best for road/offroad use? Couriers comments welcome.

Phil Wood by all means.

I second the vote for Phil. Well-built, indestructable, user servicable and user rebuildable. What a combination.

I had a set of custom wheels built for a Serotta. I spec'd Phil hubs. Not the lightest, but the longest lived hubs around.

if i could have afforded it when i built my fixie i'd have bought a phil hub. the extra weight doesnt bother me as i know it's for a good reason: they're bombproof.

i like the design ideas behind the chub hub, but i'm not a racer, and the things that hub was designed for really aren't that important to me.
