What is the difference between the cove stiffee fr and the stiffee sl? I know the sl has a steep top tube, but which one do u think is better? I hear the sl rides more like a bmx and i'm not sure what that means. I'm not sure which one is better. They both look great and have great reviews, the price is very close and i'm not sure what the differences are. Can you help me? You can find them at www.covebike.com

First off neither is better.
Now the frames are very different. Take a close look at the rear triangle and where the toptube of the chainstay meets the seat tube. The rear triangle is also stronger on the SL version. But the sl also probably carries more weight (I assume). One bike is much better for biking while the other is much better for urban / dj / bmx style riding. Both bikes are strong and have a lifetime warranty, what kind of riding do you prefer?
Once you decide on your style then decide...Both bikes kickass...
Normal trail riding / freeriding - FR
Urban / bmx style riding - SL (due to the nature of Slalom this bike works better for that style as well)
I wish I had a Stiffee. The frame that is. I've got plenty of the other kind :o

I actually do the dj and some urban things but i also like the trail riding. So i'm not sure which one to get. Although i do have a cross country rig, but it has little travel in the rear and front. So i guess i would go for the urban bike. But i still need help on the differences in the frames. Don't u just love the names of those cove bikes?:D

Get the FR then. It will be able to do both better than the other. Why do you need further help with the differences? Because the rear triangle is signifigantly diff it not only changes the geometry but the strong points of the bikes. If you need to know more details call Cove bikes and ask to speak with Geoff Pendrell. He is a long tim employee who, is you catch him on a good day, will be more helpful than a rabbit in heat.
And yes I love the names of Cove bikes. :)
