Singlespeed & Fixed Gear - Chicago: Should we jump on the bandwagon?

Guys and Gals:
Here is the deal. There are those black billboards all over with 6 : 6 : 06 on them and then they say **** like "the omen is here" or "repent now : the end is upon us." Well, I was driving home from the parents house in the suburbs last night and realize that this is not going to happen again very soon and Chicago should celebrate bike race style. And since I have been wanting to start some cash prize weeknight races, I'd think this would be a good start. Are you all interested in racing that tuesday night? I will make the route and spokecards. 5 bucks to enter. Winner takes all. ???????????????????

Jeff, I feel you. The other week night races I was thinking of would be Wed. nights. This 6/6/06 thing just falls on Tuesday night.

Chances are this will happen. It is not going to be super crazy, but it wont be super short either. End it at a bar and just have a good night. I am thinking like an 8 PM start time......

Maybe the race should be on the 5th of June. You know... just in case.

yeah, that does sound fun. I like the idea of having a summer series
with overall points and stuff. we should all meet up one night
and chat about it.

*pseudo-hijack* That weekend should have something going on also, as a certain someone who already had a run in with Satan (http://www.bikeforums.net/showthread.php?t=177198) will be moving back to Chicago that weekend.

(And I'll be home that weekend too)

cool, thanks. Yeah the route is done....should be alright. It is not brutally long, but not a jog up the street either. If all the checkpoints are represented I will need four helpers.......But I think I can work around that if need be.

I'm down to help with CP. if you still need it. feel free to pm, here or on flickr, or call me. I'll be in Chicago working on getting the new work bike functional and finding a new job. Starting tomorrow.
Today I drink beer, catch up with people, and wait for the bike shop to open tomorrow so I can go pick up my frame.

i dont think i can leave my house on 666. i have a feeling that some gnarly ****'s gonna happen and peopel are going to go insane. depending on how the day goes, i might venture into the night.
