YEah I know, another which part question. What does everyone here ride for saddles. My current saddle seems to be causing a little numbness after 60 minutes of seated riding and I need something a little more comfortable for riding on the trainer. I was thinking something with the "love channel". Any suggestions. I don't have a bike shop around to do any testing so I have to go by peoples advice and then order online.
Cheers.
Having your junk go numb = bad thing.
I ride a Selle Italia Flite Gel... got it as a Christmas present, and it's quite comfortable, and reasonably priced. I suggest you check it out.

The only time "da boys" have gone numb for me, was when I had my bike on a trainer, and didn't use a front wheel block riser. My guess is that the "more forward" position caused additional pressure "down there".
Before you go spending $$$ on a saddle, make sure your bike is level, or at least you seat position is level.
Now, to answer your ????. I have a WTB Speed Comfort V (I think that's the name), so far so good.
On my road bike I have a Selle Italia Flite. Sweet saddle!

i've raced this saddle for the last 2 years. They have such a good deal on them i bought 3 and put them on all my bikes. The bike has a channel in the middle to take pressure off of that area AND vent's that force air up your backside to keep it cool :)

Those are the ones I am looking at. I don't really want to spend a tonne as I only have this problem with my bike as a trainer. I propped up my front tire and that did help but I still think a saddle is in order...
Another one I am look at is the Azonic love channel. But from what I have read that thing is a beast...:)

I had an old WTB SST saddle for years and loved it. After a rail got bent, I replaced it with WTB's Laser V, and it's been great so far. It's nice and light, has the comfort channel thing, and is well cushioned and flexible for a nice ride.
I have yet to find a comfy saddle.

It's a personal thing, but Selle Italia Ti Flite is a great saddle and the one that is on all of my bikes. I like the smooth over the gel version.

I think you need some thing like this Mael.

always thought saddles were all the same...kinda comfy...but just had to deal with a little discomfort....not with the WTB speed V, this thing rocks!! I have gotten a bunch of guys to switch and they all love em! I sound like a freakin info-mercial. I really think it's a good saddle, check it out! :crash:
Mael- I have saddles with the channel on both my road and mtn bikes. I have one of the Nashabr saddles on my road bike, works but I still get some numbness. On my mtn bike I have the "liberator" by Terry (I think). It has "TFI" on the back of it so I think that's a Terry saddle. Anyway, it's the best I've tried.
The WTB Rocket (I think its the same as Speed V--anyway, their light race saddle) is really comfortable. If you are going for comfort, I don't think there is anything more comfy than that.
I use the Flite which I like. The Specialized BG saddles suuuuuccccckkk! At least for me.
The Terry Fly is also really comfortable.

Thanx guys. I am still not sure but at least I have an idea. The only reason I even need it is the fact I am riding on a trainer and instead of standing for 50% of the time I seated 90% of the time. :)..

I like my bontrager race lite saddle, after broken in it is very comfortable. If "richard and the boys" are going numb, try tilting the nose of the saddle down in small increments till the problem dissapears. Worked for me.
dirtbikedude- I was thinking about putting one of those on the new Bullit :)

Hey... while we're on the subject...
what kind of saddle would you guys recommend for me...
mine that came on my BigHit is actually WAY softer than the other saddles I've had.
After about 45-60 minutes of riding... mostly seated.. not my ass cheeks.. but like slightly "ahead" of them gets some decent pain going. The boys dont go numb.. just the area behind them.
What kind of saddle should I use to correct this?
Sorry.. not trying to be gross or ask dumb questions.. but I could really use some good advice on this one...
thanks in advance

Well, I have a Selle Italia Flite Ti saddle and absolutely love it! But, it has begun to fade from the sun and it smells like ass... So, I'm in the market for a new saddle! I want another Selle Italia but I don't like ANY of the current models available. They all seem to have that funky perforated fake vinyl covering thing going on, WTF?

What about the old standby, brooks leather saddle?
I switched my bike over to a Selle San Marco Aspide saddle on my road bike I love it, it does have very minimal padding and only weighs 160 grams. I don't think it is for everyone though.

try a koobi SI saddle, they are nice and the price is good at www.pricepoint.com for $49.95 i love mine.http://www.pricepoint.com/saddleskoobi.html
I use Specialized BG saddles on my bikes (as does my better half) Neither she nor I have had any complaint from the "boys" or from her nether region.

That would be sweet. Make sure to get a pic of it.
Hey Big-Hit, try and tilt the sadle a bit farther down in the front. One thing though. Why you sittin' so much on that bike?

Dirtbikedude: I use my Bighit for everything from Urban to hardcore trail riding. :D
Most of my friends are XC guys & roadies... and I'm able to keep up and somtimes excel over a few of them in the technical sections on the trails.
I don't hardly ever sit on it when doing stunts & stuff... but for trail rides.. I like to have my knees at a 30 degree angle, and my seatpost UP a bit. It's really comfy that way.
Anyways...
any ideas guys?
The Selle Italia Flite's are WAY outta my price range.. and wouldn't match a BH Comp... :p
I'm trying a GT saddle that has ti rails. After a week of riding I have to say it's the most comfortable thing I've got. I wish I could find more of them. Do you think the ti rails has anything to do with anything? I'm going to look for something of similar shape and design and see what I come up with.

Another vote for the WTB Rocket V. It feels like a couch, it's only 195grams, and it looks good to boot.

The Terry Liberator works for me, but it's not paradise found; some discomfort is just a cost of doing business.
I tried one of those "bench" seats that you sit over, not on like with a saddle, from
www.ergo-theseat.com
and positively do NOT recommend it, due to the instability it brings to the ride.

I just got a Specialized Telluride, and I like it. I can't vouch for how it performs over long periods of time yet, but I had another Specialized seat on my old bike, and it was the only seat I could stand to stay on over 15 minutes. The Telluride is nearly identical in shape and surface area as that old one, but it's alot lighter and the edges are rounder, and the covering is real leather. The covering on the other seat isn't too good.
