Folding Bikes - Looking for a person who regularly uses a folder...

Bikeforums.net is a forum about nothing but bikes. Our community can help you find information about hard-to-find and localized information like bicycle tours, specialties like where in your area to have your recumbent bike serviced, or what are the best bicycle tires and seats for the activities you use your bike for.

...for a national magazine article I'm writing. I'd especially like to find a professional type who regularly takes his/her bike on subways, trains, and other forms of transit (perhaps on commutes or errands).

Please send me an email or private message if you'd be willing to be interviewed (and perhaps photographed). Could you also please tell me a little bit about yourself -- what you do, what kind of bike you ride, and what kinds of things you use it for?

many thanks,
john

Dear John (LOL)

Perhaps you should first tell us a little about yourself e.g. which country, which town as taking photos of someone on the other side of the world could be a bit tricky, unless of course the person in question has a folder that fits in his private jet!

I'm a dentist and researcher at the college of Medicine at the University of South Florida in Tampa (USA). I come from a background in adventure racing, but I ride my bike everyday inside the campus between labs. I use a folder because I take it with me from a different city inside my sedan. I've been in a few magazines before.. Honestly, I believe am a good fit for your interview, but just like chop, I would like to know more about you.

Thank you,

Rafael

Sure, why not. Just be sure you spell my name right. It's E - U - B - I.

But seriously...

I'm a mechanical engineer and cycle in the LA area. Usually from my house to the Park N Ride, but I have also used the folder very successfully on the Metrolink trains also.

It's not that we don't TRUST you, it's just that we know it's your first post. Ya can't be too careful! :D

I only meant that there was no point in asking for photo opportunities without saying where this would be possible! I din't mean to frighten the poor guy off!
You got back from your hols in one piece then James.
P.S. The Hamster Keepers & Bar-b-q-ers Monthly is a very respected rag! :p

Smashing-good time in London it was. Nothing like a big, hearty Goddard's steak-n-kidney pie with mash and peas, all doused in liberal splatterings of rich, dark gravy...;)

P.S. Look for a front-page article and photo of me and my Swift in next month's Horse And Hound.

LOL! I almost spit out my diet coke all over my monitor! I think I'm going to have to watch Notting Hill this evening.

To the original poster... I'm a newb to the folder culture. I think you need to write an article with the perspectives of both a veteran folding bike user and the perspective of a newb like myself. Any chance on my getting into the mag? Will it make me famous?

But, seriously, any chance on getting more info on the publication? We don;t want to give you an interview and pics only to find out we'll be featured in Juggs.;)

If you will communicate privately, I think you will find the article is all above board. I made the recommendation that he seek an experienced rider from this forum.
