After repeatedly gouging my shins with my bike's chainrings while wrestling with the jackknifed (allegedly parked) BOB trailer, I asked my more mechanically inclined brother-in-law to design and build a kickstand for the beast. It is inspired by the old Schwinn Stingray bike. Copper tubing where possible, welded onto BOB frame. Pin used to lock the kickstand in place (the dangling thing). Provides complete support for the rig.

Very nice job. I wish it was a bolt-on mod so I could duplicate it.

Pretty clever. The method that I used on my Bob trailer was one that I used to prop ( yes prop) up my bike. Take a look at this link. http://www.krabach.info/bike_light/bike_prop.htm A very simple solution that also lets you prop up a bike loaded with full panniers.

I did a simular thing for my BOB trailer. The bunge holds the front tire straight (attached with one hand) and the shortened kickstand folds out with a swipe of my foot. I have more BOB modifications on my CGoaB journal.

Hi!

Good to see ya.

Have you seen Steve's (?) bolt on telescoping kick stand mounted onto the trailer ONLY? Claims it holds Bike & BOB fully loaded.

The OP's yak stand looks great. But I've found that the 2-footed bike kickstand by Hebie works brilliantly at keeping the bike (and yak) upright, especiallz when fully loaded. Saves the trouble \of having to craft a yak stand. Though, if I had the ability, I would probably try it simply cause it looks like a fun project. :)

This is great! As a BoB owner, I too got tired of the jackknife/parking issue and use bags now. I'll have to try some of these ideas. Hmmm, the nephew just got a nice new welding set.
