Singlespeed & Fixed Gear - CHI: Summer Race Series

So we have been talking about it and now here it is. Please disreguard the post i made earlier today becasue I think this thread should mimic the VeloLove thread. I have a few ideas here and I am going to let them loose in the form of week day evening races that are not too grueling and focus more on getting everyone together and having a good time. With the exception of this one here, they will probably be on Wed nights. Everyone is welcome to create races and whatnot so dont feel like this is supposed to be my gig. Lets just get some stuff going becasue last summer was lacking here in the city......so with no further ado.

666 has been interpreted simplist as, "it is man's number." Six is the number of man, man being imperfect, or evil. The number 7 is considered the number of perfection, (seven days of creation), the number of God. Each digit of 666 falls short of being perfect just as man falls short of God's perfection. Being the number of man it can be taken to be the number of the Antichrist, rather than Satan. The Antichrist is Satan's best counterfeit of the one perfect man, Jesus Christ. Yet the Antichrist falls short in every way.

And once every Millennium the world has the pleasure of experiencing the most imperfect day. Tuesday June 6th 2006. 6/6/06 7:30 PM at the corner of Des Plains and Randolf, Chicago IL : Race for the Number of the Beast. Five dollars to enter Winner takes all. Finish up at the most haunted bar in the city! The end is near, come out and repent all your sins or forever be doomed to an eternity in this imperfrect world. And ride around to the places in the city that are the most haunted and have witnessed unbelieveable amounts of death.

hell yeah, it could be a teamed thing where there would be 2 to a team the front person wears the front half of the unicorn and the 2nd person wears the back half. Starts right before sundown so you are riding off into the sunset chasing the fairies to their mystical land over the rainbow.

I want to be the back half, Tristan up front!

i was sideswiped by a bus last night and now by back wheel looks like a pringle. anyone have an extra fixed/free rear wheel they are willing to sell? 700c and machined for brakes (i'm going to a freewheel. yes i'm pussing out. my body can't take it anymore) and i can't play with you guys unless i have a rear wheel. and i want to join in on the 666 thing if it's still gonna happen.

I'm still waiting to hear if I will be able to go to this or not. If I am not out of town I'll be available to drive a couple more people to madison.

It's official: the summer race series is ON. Cardstock did a hell of a job...this is the most fun I've had in a hot minute. About 27 racers showed for a great 15-mile course. **** was fun as hell. A few pics here (http://www.flickr.com/photos/ndg/).
