The buildup began today!
I got my Mavic 3.1 rims on XT disc hubs (black of course) and Panaracer Trailblaster tubeless tires today. I put on the disc brakes, levers, shifters, rear derailler, wheels (Mounting those tires was a *****!) seat, seatpost, etc. I don't have the cassette, front derailler, or brake cables yet, they'll be here next week. The crank I have to switch over from my other bike (and buy a 100 dollar set of rings to convert to 9 speed, dammit) but I don't have the tools to do that.
How hard is it to pull off the crank and get out the bottom bracket? I don't have the tools, so what tools will I need? I know I need a crank puller (Will I need an oversized one for my Race Face crank?) as well as a bottom bracket tool. What about for the cassette? Do I just need a chain whip and lockring tool?
So far the buildup has been really successful... and it's been alot of fun to do. Only took me a few hours to get this far.. but it's still got quite a bit of work to do before it becomes rideable. I've got plenty of parts I need to get rid of now, too.. lots of XTR stuff! PM me if you're interested.
