Hey, I'm just looking for pictures from the MGKYO race that was on mother's day. I know pictures were taken. I just don't know where to find them. I would have taken some of my own but I was too busy focusing on not keeling over. If you have any, I would love to see them.
Thanks

Misty. It didn't rain hard, but the constant icy prickles provided by the sleet was enough. 17 racers started and about 13 or 14 finished. Skids and stands also occurred with aplomb. Copious libation provided, as always, by PBR with prizes from Jimmy John's, Baba Budan's, Reser Cycles, and Campus Cyclery. Hopefully we'll have some pictures up in a thread or two in a few days..

Damn... sounds like a good time. I'll have to haul my ass over there for the next one you guys put on.

As for MGKYO pictures, I don't know of any outside of the video that's posted on the Flying Pig Courier website.

I have pictures from yesterday. I don't know how well they turned out. I haven't gone through them yet. I'll probably photobucket them and provide a link...after I sleep for a few days. (Sheesh, I'm tired as hell and I didn't even ride!)

It was a good time, a bit on the cold and wet side.
And a pumpkin sits better in a bag then a cinder block.

Not that any of the Cincy folk post all that regularly, but we should make this our go to thread. So, I'm not sure when the next local race will be, but I'm planning on having one sometime early next year (Jan/Feb) up here at school (Oxford, OH). Details are about as sketchy as they get right now, as I've just started to think about it today. One sponsor has tentatively committed (my shop, Bikewise), and I'll keep everyone updated on a date and time.

Then you'll be excited to know that everyone will have an embarassing picture taken of themselves at the race...more on that later.

I had an awesome time at the pumpkin rally. Joey and I are planning on putting on an alleycat localized around clifton rather than downtown. Dates and theme are to come later. Count on some good climbs though.

yeah, first the bad news: i was one of the poor saps that had to bow out early. i really wanted to finish, but i seriously had a huge paper to do, and when i saw harrison ave. as the surprise drop off, i freaked out. on to the good stuff: mike - amazing job organizing everything. i realy wish i could've stuck around for the party afterwards. it was seriously a blast.

Thanks Bill, glad you had a good time. As for the Harrison Ave, it wasn't very far at all. You may have even passed it on your ride home.

Check it: http://www.mapquest.com/maps/map.adp?formtype=address&country=US&popflag=0&latitude=&longitude=&name=&phone=&level=&addtohistory=&cat=&address=1107+harrison+ave&city=cincinnati&state=oh&zipcode=45214

There is an alleycat in Dayton on Friday December 15th starting at 7:30. Starting at the neon on 5th street. We should gather up a crew to go and tear up their city (in a friendly way). I am going, so anyone who is interested, get a hold of me and maybe we can work out carpooling.

Dayton was pretty tight; it got a little cold by start time, but once everyone got going, the temperature was not a concern. Top Cincy finishers were 10th (Brent) and 11th (me--Kerry). Damned Goldie (Justin) blinded us with his mangina to finish 1st, despite his claims of "going slow this time." He also claimed skids, but talked too much isht to keep up with the one-footed shenanigans of Brent in stands. There was no afterparty as Elton, the organizer, has kids and probably couldn't have contained 50+ of us to a soundproof room. Most of us just went to a bar down the street and dissipated quickly after that. Elton promises another race in March/April and I will be attempting to throw one in Oxford (home of Miami University and my lame as.s) in Jan/Feb.

Alright, so I think Brent, Kerry and I are all for sure going to Cleveland. Anyone else want to go?

Also, if anyone is interested in getting in on our custom Sprint Club (portlandcyclewear.com) jerseys, give Kerry your e-mail address so we can have an idea of how many people are wanting one.

Word on the jerseys and Cleveland. Today I sent an e-mail to PC requesting more information on the jerseys and artwork. Hopefully Jason checks his e-mail soon and lets me know if he has time to do a quick logo/custom font. Fill my PM box, 'nati lurkers!

I can request any day off provided I give a couple weeks in advance. Also, it's winter and business is pretty slow. It doesn't hurt that it's bike-related. I think Doug pretty much grants me any time off for races or rides.

Bring Steevo with you; he and Danny Chew just did a winter double century (!) and I'm sure he's ready to crush some noobs.

Million Mile Danny Chew and Continental Divide Steevo... makes sense they did a double century together. Although with this weather, I wouldn't exactly call it a 'winter' double...

Well, I was more hinting at the lack of daylight in which to do a moderately-paced double. Their pace for the distance was something stupid like 19 mph...

Back to the race: who's bringing Doctor Who? Does he know about the race?

I think the Doctor is either in Athens or Chicago. I will give him a call today though and see if he is up for it.

...and it's only a month and a half late!

http://s145.photobucket.com/albums/r236/cincyalleycat/

I would like to see this photobucket thing turn into a repository for the Cincy folk to place pics from alleycats here and alleycats otherwheres where there is a large contingent of cincy folk.

If you have pics to add, just pm me and I'll pass on the password to you, so long as I know you're a Cincy person. If you do want to add pics, create a folder with the name of the alleycat the pics are of. If there is already an existing folder for that race, just add to that one. Sounds easy!!! Don't it?

To start it off...the promised pictures that I took at the pumkin rally. Enjoy!

Also, if you could please pass this info along to those that aren't a member of BF, I would appreciate it.

Thanks,
MG

I haven't pre-registered yet, but I will when they have onlne payment. I don't really like mailing money.

As promised:

Holy crap, Chicago people showing up in Oxford would make me wet myself. There's at least one Oxford native in your city, so such a trip shouldn't be too outlandish!

We are having our big summer alleycat on July 9th of this year. Just started working on the details, but they will be available within the next month or so. Would love to see some of you guys in our city, and yes, as always, there will be some serious hill bombing.

And remember: What goes down, must go up.

Sooo....are any of you Cincinnati cats interested in doing brevets in preparation for Paris-Brest-Paris, which is in August? You have to do a series of brevets, each of increasing distance, before you can qualify for PBP. It's a really optimistic projection (doing 1200k in the required 90 hours), but I think it'd be an amazing thing to try for. All of the local qualifying brevets are in central or southern Ohio and one even passes through Oxford! Here's a website with the lengths and start/finish cities: www.ohiorand.com

and the list of brevets:

No, I'm not suggesting we do this fixed although that would be AWESOME. I already have a bike that could be considered a randonneuring monster, so yeah. Let me know...
