Touring - Wherefore Art Thou Surly?

By all accounts in the Seattle area, the next production run of Surly LHT's was supposed to be in stockrooms everywhere a week ago. Has anyone heard any news on the wherabouts of Surly? For those of you who have built an LHT is this similar to what you experienced? I was briefly toying with the idea of getting a different frame for all these parts I have piled in the corner of the living room, but decided I could wait another week or so barring internvention from my wife. :rolleyes:

When I went into my LBS several weeks ago to finally order one, they said out of stock until the end of the month. I got lucky and found one on craigslist.

contact surly directly via email. check the the blog for product availability status/news.

they read and respond to emails almost immediately. truly impressive. i emailed them 3x in 4 years, they always get back to me with a good answer, not some stock answer / cs line of BS.

wherefore means "why?" not "where?"
sorry. its the only way i can justify my drama degree.

In fact, someone with an LHT better turn this into that kind of thread, or an endless procession of English, crit, and drama majors are going to be jumping up and down!

It was but a bit of jest Drama\English majors, spare me thy tongue lashing eh? :rolleyes: Anyway, the Surly guys are telling me the end of June. Now, I can properly say Wherefore art though Surly. Sigh. How am I supposed to wait another month?

I feel your pain Juilian. I have a pile of brand new parts sitting in the corner on my living room waiting on my replacement LHT frame to come in.

I was told 3 weeks by my LBS - which will be up Monday, but I am expecting a wait of 4-5 weeks. Nothing ever seems to arrive on time.

I wated 2 mo for mine but it was worth it, keep hopen.

Keep your eye on surlyblog. They will tell you when the next batch of LHTs go into stock.

IMO, wait until the LHT is available. Great frame, I am just crazy about mine!

I also waited 2+ months for my LHT (last winter). Like others have said, their BLOG is the best place to find out when it may be in stock.
