I did it. I bought a used recumbent last night. I rode it on my 8-mile commute today. What a blast! I took a few pictures just before dark.

It's nothing real fancy, but I'll have to wait til my kids get through college before I buy one of those 4-digit models.

Way to Go! Looks like a BikeE.

A fine selection for a first economy bent.
Just watch yourself that you don't dump
it by turning into the pedals on SLOW turns.

It was almost my first choice but I opted
for an EZ-1 for my first bent.

Enjoy the BENT world!

If it's a BikeE, I believe there is a recall on the seat sliders. Check them to see if they are plastic with a metal ring around them. If so, OK, if not, they are offered on eBay.

How can there be a recall? Bike-E went out of business years ago!

U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission
I think I read, it was done with the voluntary services of the dealers.

I looked at them, and can't tell based on the pictures from the website. I'll e-mail the previous owner, and see if he did anything with this. Thanks.

Why don't you look at the eBay auction? That should give you enough iinformation to determine.

Way to go Jim! You're in for some fun now! :) I'm always amazed at how much more fun I have every time I go riding, and I've had my bent for about three months now.

I've just been planning a bike tour with my husband's family and several of them are now considering bents too. It is definitely addictive.

When I got my recumbent a few months ago, I felt like I was new to riding bicycles all over again! I just love seeing the sky, and the pedaling position feels perfect. Hope I never have to go back to my upright, even though I always loved her!

The previous got back to me, and mentioned that he had already completed the safety upgrade. Thanks for your concern though.
