This track frame is fashioned in burly cold drawn, straight gauge CrMo steel tubes with a similar geometry to our Rush frame. Decals are outside the clearcoat and thus removable if you wish. Brake mounts, yes. Waterbottle bosses only on the downtube. CrMo unicrown fork is INCLUDED. Requires a 27.0mm seatpost and 1" headset. 120mm rear hub spacing. Of course it builds up heavier than our Rush, but w/o needing the shifters, cassettes, and such, it is comparable to the weight of a geared road bike. And dang, look at the price!"

An earlier site mentioned two "batches." Maybe someone at the Tange plant was fiddling with the knobs.

My lbs in eugene started branding its own track frames like a month a go and they're just rebranded pake frames i think. I mentioned they looked exactly like pakes and the owner said they came from the same factory, but stopped short of actually saying they were the same frame. The only decal they've gon on them is a "Tange CROMO" sticker. Is the pake tange cromo?
I actually just put $100 to hold one yesterday. I wasn't really planning on it but after taking one out for a ride i was really impressed with how stiff and responsive the frame felt, especailly for the price.
He told me the seat post was 27.2 and i was all stoked cuz i've got a 27.2 dura ace aero seatpost sitting here i was hoping to use. Now all this talk of 27.0 post has got me thinking i'm gonna have to drop a some more cash. Whatever, I'm getting a new frame, no complaints. Cheers.

I think there was another thread here about Pakes and someone posted something along the lines that Pake literally translates to "Chinese" in Hawaiian and in Hawaiian slang (or as a racial epithet) it translates to cheap, thrifty, penny pinching etc etc.

It's the other way around. It means "cheap," but is used in Hawaii as an epithet to describe Chinese people.

Funny thing is lots of those "cheap, thrifty, penny pinching" Pakes now own massive amounts of valuable real estate bought way back when. MBs, and RRs are *very* Pake. In Hawaii there is a slang name for most of the major races and they are used sometimes normally in conversation, sometimes in fun or anger, and also sometimes with rascist intent.

Most modern bikes use a 27.2. Just about all seatposts have a 27.2 available, so why not make the seat-tube take that size? Yeah, you can get a Thomson or a Kalloy, but not much else inbetween. It's just something that could have been easily avoided, and thus is much more annoying than it should be. Like tags on boxer shorts.

and i have a nitto jaguar seatpost in 27 off of a keirin frame i sold. some keirin frames still come in sub 27.2 sizes.
