I've actually already begun posting on a few forums, but I figured I should actually formally introduce myself.
I live in Chesapeake, VA. I currently commute t owork via my nice new Trek 1000 (5.5 miles each way, vie the most direct route).
I used to bike lots back in high school, and have only recently taken it back up (7 year or so break). I'm also getting into real road biking for the first time (thus far, I'm loving it).
One thing that helped me get out of biking last time was a lack of community. I wasn't active at all in my local biking scene, and I felt rather lonely. Being an introvert doesn't help much either. That being said, I'm at a point in my life where I need to do something to keep myself active, in shape, and to develop some good friendships. I chose biking, and I'm doing what I can to prevent what kept me from it before. In addition to the forums (which btw, have already helped me *greatly*), I'm seriously considering joining a local biking club (there's actually a few to choose from in my area, so it's a tough call :-P).

Bikeforums.net is a forum about nothing but bikes. Our community can help you find information about hard-to-find and localized information like bicycle tours, specialties like where in your area to have your recumbent bike serviced, or what are the best bicycle tires and seats for the activities you use your bike for.
