Does anybody know the seat post diameter of a 71 Bianchi Record (or Strada). I'm not sure which it is. If I measure the seat post that came out of it, it measures 1.034" or 26.26mm. Measuring the seat tube of the bike I get 1.039" or 26.39mm. Now I'm not sure if I need a 26.2mm post or a 26.4mm post. Which one do you go by? I seems like the post itself, so I should be looking at a 26.2... If so, I'm glad I missed out on that ebay auction last night...

Thanks to Fisheye32 and anyone else who has input.

there should be clearance between the tube and the post, before winding down the seatpost bolt, and .2mm sounds pretty good. Should scrape off most of the grease that you'll liberally apply to the inside of the seat tube when you put the post in. 26.2 is most likely the size you want, but both were pretty common in that time frame.
