i have em, i dont really have much frame of reference which to compare them to. they do the job.

I don't think you can beat them for the price. You can get them and a BB on eBay for $100. I've never used them before, but I'm thinking of getting a set for my beater.

1/8th and 3/32 are the thickness, not the pitch. All bike chains are a 1/2" pitch. Except for the old 1" pitch that nobody uses anymore.

As was already mentioned, it's 3/32. I get the impression that they're just road cranks that happen to create a straight chainline for fg/ss applications... The Ben's Cycle eBay page says that a second chainring can be added to create a road double. I could be wrong though...

yeah I did look up Sugino XD's and they are normally sold as a road double. I should buy one and tell Bens Bikes to give me the spare chainring they stripped off of it. haha.
Or maybe they get them from Sugino as singles.

I had a feeling they're 3/32 since the same cranks came
on my wifes bianchi. oh well, I guess I could use my existing
1/8th rocket ring since it's got both 110 / 130 bcd.

hey papalok, I think we're living in parallel universes. I'm going through the
exact same thing on an 02' pista with the stock "cyclone" cranks. once I changed
over to 1/8" drivetrain it's been a cluster****. I'm now on the inside of the spider
with like a couple mm between chainring and chainstay. makes me nervous.
and now I wanna play with different sized chainrings and it's all f.u.b.a.r.

sounds like the xd's + new bb might be the ticket though. thanks for posting this.

Are sugino xd cranks listed as symmetrical? I'm using a shimano 113 bb and my left crank arm sticks farther out then the right.
