BMX - What bike to get

im wonderin what bike a should get im either gonna get a Haro f3, A nirve tempt or a Huffy mj-12! what do u think

What kind of riding are you gonna do? Dirt, street, flatland, vert, park, race? You have to get a bike suited to the form of riding your gonna be doing. Second off, it's really hard to tell people what bike to get when you have no idea what theyare looking for in a bike. One person might ride better on a POS Wal-Mart bike than they would on a $1000 bike. Its all about feel. if your just starting out, get a cheap bike, once you get the feel of things and you realize what you are gonna want in the bike, then you can figure out what you can upgrade or what new bike you are gonna want.

If you have some experience with riding, than you probably have some ideas as to what it is you are looking for in a nice bike. DO NOT look at price. It only measures a bikes quality up to a certain point. Its only about what works for YOU! Only posers buy the nicest bikes, just because they are the nicest, not because they can ride them well.

i have 300 to spend.the huffy is 260,the haro is 180 and the nirve is 150. a need a sort of all round bike to see which kind of riding i like the best.

Ok I couldnt find anything on the Nerve Tempt, but I checked out the Huffy and the Haro. The Huffy MJ-12 is basically just a dirt jumping bike. It only has front brakes, no pegs, and dirt tires.

The Haro looks to be a good all-around bike. Chromoly main frame, pegs, 14mm axles, front and rear u-brakes....seems like a nice choice to me.

I got a haro F3 4 months ago and broke every part almost and Huffys suck

That may be the case sometimes, however isn't it smart to pay top dollar for a nice bike so you dont have to worry so much about pressure damage? A strong frame comes at a high price.

Unfortunetaly WALMART bikes just dont cut it, especially if you want to get serious and dedicate yourself to flatland like I do :beer:

'cept that if your new you don't need a flatland specific bike.
you could ride just about any bmx w/ four pegs and a gyro for your first year or two.

Yes it's smart to pay the extra for a nice bike. Thats not what i meant at all. I just meant that, a lot of people pay for a nice bike and then just sit next to them or ride them around just to show them off. Its only a good thing to pay for the best if your gonna need it, not just because you want it.

True that, but I know what its like to get into a sport and get used to a machine... it return makes you re-learn tricks if you change bikes... not completely...but still, if you want to get into it, get started with something good..

go with the haro. it seems to me that 260 is too much to pay for your first bike. my first bike was a diamondback joker and it was 180. i suited me fine because it taught me what i needed to know and when i got better i upgraded it and everything was fine. go with the cheaper bike so you dont get a bike that isnt your skill level.:crash:

I went with the Haro it isnt the best bike ave been on but its good for me

Hey If i were you i would look at a DK. Its A good durable bike and is a reasonable price. If you are just beginnning I think its a great beginner bike. Try To look for the Eight Pack, Or Cinnitati. There are others, but are either expensive and out of your price range or just arent the best buys. You got nothing to lose, check em out!!
