Why would anyone use WD-40 on a bicycle?

It doenst make any sense why it would, but i find WD-40 on my grips while installing them is better than that really smelly grip glue.
Hairspray is ok.
WD-40 works wonders.
Spray Adhesive(spray paint glue) works ok too.
Grip Glue smells and leaves gunk on your bars.

never put WD-40 on bearings or your chain. THat is the worst thing you can do for your bike. You might as well just go without lube if you are gonna use WD-40

Because it goes on wet and slippery, but dries very quickly.

i use it almost all over the bike, that and teflon spray... am i screwed?
EDIT: i do have lubes for the chain.. it says chain lube... and the bearings... i think i used teflon on one and some desgusting glue grease foam stuff spray on the other... it had a pic of a chain on the can... lol wd 40 on the rest... and teflon
use grease on the bearings, and i think you can use wd40 on the cables.

You are better off using thicker, bike specific grease.

hey zakk wylde, you might have bent/cracked a pedal or your bearings are bad in one of your pedals or your sprocket bolt on your crank arm is loose
