If I had a son, his name would be Axel. Male cat, I'd start from there.

I like naming animals after other animals, and sometimes plants. If I got a cat, I'd either name it Buffalo or Kumquat. I named a hamster Onion one time.

My cat, is named Zeo. He came with the name. I call him Hairball, though. A friend of mine had three female kittens named Shirley, Goodness, and Mercy. I liked that.

When I met my wife back in 1967 she had a cat named Cat. It was a stray and her mother told her not to name it since she wasn't going to keep it. They called it Cat for about six years.

Does anyone remember Norma Tanega's song, "Walking My Cat Named Dog"? If you do, you are old.

Goofy names could include: Spokes, Chainring, Spandex "Dex" for short, OCP and Gu-Gel for starters!:p

LOL :) so true.

---

If you have a friend who has a 5 year old get them to name the cat.

My friends 5 year old named some of the cats in there stray surprise litter, Roscoe Orange, Rain Cloud, Black Walnut, and Koa.

My GF took Black Walnut who now goes by Nut and Koa who now goes by Ko mostly.

One of my longtime friends really hates cats. He simply refers to them as "Fleabags."

That's one area where we differ. But, sorry free_pizza.. I found it funny, so the thread goes on...:p

The best and sweetest cat in the world was named Stir-fry. Sadly, she's now passed on but ohmygosh, the looks we got at the vet's office. *whew*

She was a great cat. *sigh*

I call my cat "cat." People come over to the house and say things like "Oh, you have a cat" and the cat looks right at them because it knows it's name.

Sorry - little things amuse me.

I was planning on naming my cats 'Starsky and Hutch' based on the TV program (the movie hadn't come out then), but I found that they didn't actually suit those names.

You might find the same, so I'd suggest not naming them until you had them for a week or two.

Lupus

I've no idea what it is, but they refer to this disease on 'House' all the time. Not that I have a burning desire to name a cat after a disease, I love my furry threesome (Lucky, Ziggy and Ozzy) - but I really like the name Lupus.

I've had a Mitsy, Spike, Pumpkin, Hogan, Gibson, Wilson, Kepple, Betty (three from the same litter) PJ (after PJ O'Rourke), Jazz, Annie, Tiger, D'arcy, Soloman and Sheba (two Siamese) I had a hamster called Haggis, a rabbit called Flump, and a dogs called Barnaby, Sasha, Lady, Prince and Bruno.

I hope I've not forgotten any of them. I'd feel really bad if I couldn't remember the name of one of my previous cats.

My Mum's cat is called Charlie, my sisters cats are called Phreddy, Pickle, Pweeb, Poppy (no longer with us) and a couple other P names felines.

She's called Pam.

Have a good weekend everyone.

LOL!!! We actually had a cat we called pisser several years ago. Don't remember what it's real name was. "Pisser" fit it much better. :( Got rid of that cat for obvious reasons.

Give it the right name, or this paw's coming for you...

(By the way, everytime I feel a bit sad, I stick my face in that tummy. I believe Calvin called it 'Fuzz Therapy' when he did it with Hobbes)

Not that Calvin 'Did It' with Hobbes... oh man, I can't believe I've got that image in my head now...

Call it Sex. That way you can always talk about how much you love Sex. Or that you'll do anything for Sex. Or how much Sex means to you. Or when you are sad or lonely how Sex is the only thing that makes you happy - "Yep, it's just me and Sex tonight!" Or late at night when it's time to go to bed and your cat is outside, you can open the front door and yell "Sex! Come, Sex! It's time for bed! I'm looking for Sex, anybody seen Sex?"
