Practice, and trial and error

use your whole body, not just your arms. push forward on the pedals with your legs

how long have you been trying to bunnyhop?

give it time. just enjoy riding your bike, you'll get it eventually. practice. use boxes and stuff and try hoping over them. hop up curbs, then find higher curbs. it takes time and practice.

hmm, bunny hops are hard to jump higher than 4 in, j hops (kind of like an ollie) let you jump higher, try bringing up the front wheel up first and leaning fwd and bring up the back afterwards...if you jump a curb, make sure your back tire is pumped up to at least 50 psi, or you might bend the rims)

bunnyhop, j hop = same thing = getting your bike off the ground without the use of a ramp/jump/bump.

Find a friend that's bigger than you, that can beat you up. Talk him into laying down while you try to bunny hop over him. Everytime you miss, he punches you. Repeat till you make it.

You can cry and ***** about it, or you can go out and work on them.

Mike Aitken didnt learn en-down(spelling?) 360's the first day he started riding)
(The bmx version ofRome wasnt built in a day)

lol nice try....well i am a big guy.im now 5'11 175lbs.i always thought stronger guys can bunnyhop higher.
ill tell you exactly how i bunnyhop,i hall up a little bit about 5 inches then i push all my wait up and over.i push against the bars basically until i level out.do you think if i halled the front tire up to about 8 or 11 inches i will bunnyhop a lot higher? i basically got the steps down.oh ya my bike is 35 lbs.

you can only get as high as you pull your front end up.....

pull it up 29 inches, then lift your back tire up to that height.

weight of the bike DOES NOT MATTER. if your hopping into the 40 inch range, weight might start to matter but anything under is a matter of rider skill.

I still like Darin's idea, it would work better.
At least there would be more pressure on you to make it...

Unless you plan on only riding flat land, or doing manuals then bunnyhops are important for everything. Keep practicing and maybe get a lighter bike?
