so I did it :)
It was a very hard race. The humidity was at 88 percent, it was muggy and foggy, visibility was very limited. The first 5k was one mile on roads and 2.2 cross country.. it was very chalenging to run in mud and over tree stump. I had a very bad cramp from the lack of air and wanted to get sick to my stomach, the fact that i saw people getting sick didnt help either.
I was discouraged knowing how uncomfortable this race would have to be and it slowed me down to a 9 minutes-mile pace. One men actually did pass out right at the end of the 5k, the heat, the humidity and conditions all around were hard to endure.
I quite frankly walked at transition with the idea of not even continuing, I got to my bike and told my friends that I felt discourage, my daughter put my helmet on my head and told me "mom.. you rock".. it is what got me to want to finish this.
The biking part ( 18 miles) was a breeze, i really picked up speed and passed lot of folks.I had to make up for lost time on the 5k and averaged 21 for almost the whole ride. The bike part ( including 2 transition time) was one hour. The last 5k is a blur.. i remember running and that's about it, back in the woods, in the mud but this time I didnt feel like getting sick.
The conditions were not ideal but I did it and I feel very proud. :) ( Ill try to post some pics)
